Buli is named following the buri palm. Alabang is named after the river that passes throughout the barangay. Ayala Alabang was made by Batas Pambansa Bilang 219 away from Barangay Alabang. Sucat received its name in the vernacular term "sukat", which suggests "measurement" since it was calculated during the Spanish era.: from one particular spot to
